FAQ
VenenWalker General
The therapy is called intermittent pneumatic compression, in short IPC. Its application is specified in the guidelines of the German Society of Phlebology. The recommendation of application of the VenenWalkerPro 2 strictly comply with the guideline. Important for the performance of the device is the alternating inflation of the cuffs in order to prevent an overload on the cardiovascular system.
First trials to decongest extremities are already over 100 years old. It is a well-proven therapy. Our main goal is – and always has been – to make this form of therapy accessible to all the affected at a reasonable price.
No, certainly not. Please carefully read through the indications, contra-indications and side effects as found in the user manual. Please consult with your doctor. You may want to consider suggesting seeking advice in the guideline of the Society of Phlebology.
It might not be a replacement, but a sensible addition. Phlebotomists suggest decongesting the legs with an IPC device before putting on and after taking off compression stockings.
We added the timer function by request of our customers. Some fall asleep during the therapy session and cannot turn off the device.
The function of intermittent pneumatic compression therapy is to urge ponded fluids out of the extremities. These are then being delivered to the natural disposal systems of the body. Hence, the urge to pass water is a good sign for the functionality of the therapy.
Medical device
Medical devices are strictly being controlled via the certified quality management system for medical devices of the producer. The layout and effect of the VenenWalkerPro 2 are being checked by TÜV Süd on a yearly basis.
The auditing organization can be identified by the 4-digit number behind the CE symbol.
If devices are being sold without the mentioned number, these are typically being sold as massage devices. These do not underlie the strict testing procedure and it cannot be ensured, that patient safety is being met.
Especially critical is the adherence to the maximum pressure of 120mmHg. Devices building up pressure as high as 500mmHg can be found on the market.
With a very high pressure the arterial blood supply to the extremities could be blocked. A normal blood pressure lies within the range of 80/120mmHg.

The leg cuffs for the VenenWalker Pro are available in models “standard” and “short”. Leg cuff standard: The length of the cuff measures approx. 85cm incl. heel, circumference around the thigh up to approx. 72cm, circumference around the feet approx. 42cm. Short: The length of the cuff measures approx. 70 cm incl. heel, circumference around the thigh up to approx. 72cm, circumference around the feet approx. 42cm. If the circumference should not be sufficient, extension pieces can be inserted in order to enlarge the circumference of the cuffs.

Attached to the cuff there is a body loop, which serves as an aid to secure the cuff in place during application.

All of our VenenWalker leg cuffs are suitable with their respective control devices, independently of the age of the device.
Yes, the VenenWalker basic cuffs can be combined with the control unit of the VenenWalker PRO. However, this does not work the other way around. The control device of the VenenWalker basic cannot be combine with cuffs of the VenenWalker PRO.

Unfortunately, no! For the arm cuffs it is necessary to use the VenenWalker PRO or PRO2 device in all cases.
